LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A fourth former Louisville UPS employee is charged in connection with the theft of nearly $113,000 worth of Apple products.
According to court documents, Kevion Hudson was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for charges of fleeing or evading police and engaging in organized crime, among other charges.
Hudson is one of four defendants accused of stealing iPhone products while working as seasonal employees at UPS.
Investigators said backpacks were found with iPhones, Airpods, charging cables and other items.
Hudson's three co-defendants, Takiyha Jones, Jasmine Kimbrough and Wael Ayari, pleaded not guilty in arraignment court last week on charges of complicity in organized crime.
The suspects are accused of working together to take iPhones from packages and conceal them in backpacks, according to court documents. Hudson would take the phones and throw the backpack over the fence on the side of the UPS property. Another suspect would then catch the backpacks.
Police said the suspects would rotate their roles in the operation "to gain more Apple products."
While being questioned by UPS security, police said Hudson fled on foot. Police said 45 newly-taken iPhones valued at $54,000 were found in an abandoned backpack.
One of the other suspects was arrested with another backpack with 22 iPhones and accessories valued at $25,000. Additionally, police estimated they had stolen more than $33,500 in product before the backpacks were found.
In total, the suspects are accused of stealing an estimated $112,500 worth of product.Â
Court documents state Hudson "has a history of assaults" and already had a pending case against him in Jefferson County for domestic violence and violating an IPO.
Hudson pleaded not guilty in court Wednesday morning. His next court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
All four suspects are being held on $112,500 cash bonds.
A UPS spokesperson said the suspects are no longer employed there.
