LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Six juveniles and an adult were arrested and eight firearms were recovered after a Louisville gun store was robbed Monday morning.

In a news release Monday afternoon, Jeffersontown police said three suspects broke into Everything Concealed Carry, which is a Federal Firearms Licensee located at 10306 Taylorsville Road in Louisville, just after 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 20.

Police said the suspects stole over a dozen firearms and used a vehicle that was reported stolen.

"The displays, they were able to smash the glass and take those firearms, and the ones that were on the racks were not behind glass," ATF Special Agent Jason McClendon said. "So they were readily available for taking. A lot of times, those weapons wind up back in the hands of violent individuals who in turn commit violent crimes."

In an update just before 9:30 p.m. Monday, Jeffersontown police said six juveniles and one adult were arrested in connection with the burglary. Police also recovered eight stolen firearms were recovered "at multiple locations" throughout the city.

None of the suspects have been identified.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests are possible "as detectives continue to follow leads and recover remaining evidence."

Investigators are working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) office in Louisville and the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Jeffersontown police said the case "highlights the importance of interagency cooperation," emphasizing that the "rapid sharing of information and resources" between the departments "was instrumental in locating the suspects."

"This investigation demonstrates the strength of our partnerships with federal and regional law enforcement agencies," Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders said in a news release. "Working alongside ATF and the Louisville Metro Police Department allowed us to act quickly, hold those responsible accountable, and recover stolen firearms before they could be used to harm members of our community. Getting these guns off the street is critical to public safety."

Officials were offering up to $10,000 for information that led to the arrest of three suspects who allegedly stole the firearms. It's unclear whether those suspects specifically have been arrested yet or whether that award has been given out.

The ATF is offering up to $5,000 along with another $5,000 from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) for information that leads to their arrests.
