LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Shelbyville couple is facing theft charges for allegedly using company credit cards for personal use.
Police said Joseph Aaron Phelps and Amanda West used company credit cards for personal purchases while she worked at Athletx Sports Group in Louisville.
Phelps is a teacher at Iroquois High School.
The couple used the credit cards to pay for vacations, rental cars, utility bills, groceries, and other items, totaling more than $44,000, police said.
Athletx said in a statement Monday that West is no longer employed there, and that her husband, Phelps, was a subcontractor at the company, but is no longer being contracted.
Athletx is cooperating with police.
