LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are conducting a death investigation after a woman's body was found at an apartment in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.
Neighbors tell WDRB that police were called early Thursday morning to the building on Duncan Street near 29th Street, which is just a block from Atkinson Elementary.
Louisville Metro Police confirmed officers were called to the scene about 8:15 a.m. and found "an adult woman obviously deceased."
A WDRB photojournalist at the scene said both Louisville Metro Police and a crime scene investigator were there.
LMPD said homicide was notified but it is waiting for the outcome of an autopsy.
