LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — An Elizabethtown man was charged with murder after police said he fired into a home and killed a woman.

Officers arrested Chris Bell, Jr., 34, on Thursday after a brief standoff with Elizabethtown police.

Police said Bell knocked on a door at a home on Henon Lane Wednesday morning. That's near Elizabethtown High School.

Bell walked inside, but was asked to leave. That's when police said he fired into the home from the porch, hitting Kenyata McWilliams. McWilliams died at the scene.

Bell is charged with murder and was arraigned in Hardin County District Court on Friday where a judge set his bond at $1 million. He's expected back in court on Jan. 3.

McWilliams' sister-in-law set up a GoFundMe page for her funeral expenses.

Her family said McWilliams will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her.
