LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man could face decades in prison after an alleged ambush and murder at Caesars Southern Indiana.
On March 17, LilDon Williams walked to his car in the parking garage at the casino in southern Indiana. The hip-hop artist performed a concert in Louisville before driving to the casino to celebrate.
Police said two men followed him to southern Indiana and waited for three hours. As Williams approached his car, the two men opened fire with assault-style weapons.
"Me thinking about him running for his life breaks my heart," Rannisha Williams said about her late husband.
From the moment she met LilDon at a Speedway in Louisville, she knew there was something special about him.
"I've never met somebody like him, as far as his mindset and his morals," Rannisha said.
He was known as a hard-working man and caring father. He worked at Ford for more than 10 years. But now the love of Rannisha's life is gone.

"It just seems unreal," Rannisha said.
She called him on the morning of March 17 to drop off their daughter.
"I kept calling and calling, he never not answers my calls," Rannisha said.
She spent that day in March rallying friends and family, hoping he would turn up.
"He's going to pull up in his little raggedy car and we're going to hear his car coming down the street," Rannisha said.
That hope was quickly ripped away when police called to say he was shot and killed outside of Caesars Southern Indiana.
"My daughter was there, I just keep hearing her screaming 'my daddy's dead, my daddy's dead,'" Rannisha said.
Harrison County Prosecutor Otto Schalk said Atwaun Proctor confessed to playing a role in Williams' murder.
There is a second suspect involved in the shooting, but no arrests have been made.
Harrison County Sherriff's Department hasn't confirmed the second suspect's identity, but Sherriff Nick Smith previously said, "We are still actively and aggressively working the case and will bring all parties involved to justice."
Louisville Metro Police Department cameras, flock cameras and cell phone pings helped lead investigators to Proctor.
"Your lives are done," Rannisha said. "Why would you do that? Was it worth it?"
Rannisha believes LilDon didn't know Proctor or the other shooter.
Proctor is scheduled to be sentenced on July 22. His plea deal calls for 45 years in prison with no chance of probation.

"They took my daughter's everything, her best friend," Rannisha said. "I'm tired of going to court and getting the phone calls from police. I'm ready to start my grieving process."
LilDon's daughter was at the sound check for his last-ever concert.
"She would have a ball," Rannisha said. "You would think she was at the concert. She was his number one fan, basically."
Rannisha's daughter celebrated her seventh birthday earlier this month. It was the first of many moments that LilDon will miss.
"I find myself picking my phone up to call him, and I can't," Rannisha said.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication. His memory will live on through his widow and beloved daughter.
