It has been just over three months since LilDon Williams was killed. The hip-hop artist performed a concert in Louisville before driving to the casino to celebrate.

Early Sunday, March 17, Williams walked to his car in the parking garage. Police said two men had followed him to southern Indiana and waited for three hours. As Williams approached his car, the two men opened fire with assault-style weapons.

Harrison County Prosecutor Otto Schalk said Atwaun Proctor confessed to playing a role in Williams' murder.

"We believe, in terms of motive at this point, as it relates for Mr. Proctor, that there was previously a death, and we believe this was, in part, a retaliatory killing," Schalk explained. "This was one part of our puzzle, as we try to seek justice for LilDon."

There is a second suspect involved in the shooting, but no arrests have been made.

The Harrison County Sherriff's Department hasn't confirmed the second suspect's identity, but Sherriff Nick Smith said, "We are still actively and aggressively working the case and will bring all parties involved to justice."

Schalk said they believe it's a matter of time.

"I'm confident and hopeful that we will ultimately, you know, again, pursue justice and have that second shooter hopefully custody sooner than later," he said.

Louisville Metro Police Department cameras, flock cameras and cell phone pings helped lead investigators to Proctor. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 22, 2024. His plea deal calls for 45 years in prison with no chance of probation.
