LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A former La Grange, Kentucky, police officer and his son were indicted Friday on felony charges related to multiple domestic violence incidents, including strangulation.
Tyler Schneble, 19, was indicted by a Oldham County grand jury and charged with three counts of first degree strangulation, one count of tampering with a witness, one count of second degree cruelty to animals, four counts of terroristic threatening and one count of violation of an Emergency Protective Order (EPO).
According to court records, from 2025 to 2026, Tyler Schneble strangled a victim multiple times, threatened her and abused her cat. The victim then obtained an EPO, which Tyler Schneble violated.
Tyler Schneble's father, 48-year-old Michael Schneble, was also indicted Friday and charged with one count of intimidating a participant in the legal process and four counts of first degree official misconduct.
In May 2026, courts records show Michael Schneble threatened the same victim "in an attempt to influence her testimony, decision, or opinion." And on four occasions between July 2025 and Oct. 2025, while working as an officer with the La Grange Police Department, he failed to report the domestic incidents involving his son.
Tyler Schneble is currently being held at the Oldham County Detention Center on a $7,000 bond.
Both men are scheduled to be arraigned at 11 a.m. July 23 in Oldham County Circuit Court.
