LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Wisconsin homicide suspect was arrested in southern Indiana on Tuesday after a high-speed chase.
According to the Clark County Sheriff's Office, deputies found Demonta Hambright by using Flock cameras at a nearby truck stop while he was in a stolen vehicle.
Police said when they tried to make contact, Hambright drove off. But the pursuit ended after he crashed on Charlestown-Memphis Road. Hambright tried to run away from police but he was found by officers in a nearby soybean field.
Hambright was taken to the Clark County Jail with a pending extradition. He was charged with resisting law enforcement in Clark County along with the outstanding Wisconsin homicide warrant.
"We commend our deputies for their quick thinking and use of cutting-edge technology like Flock Safety cameras, which played a pivotal role in safely resolving this situation," Clark County Sheriff Scottie Maples said in a news release. "Public safety remains our top priority, and operations like this demonstrate our commitment to holding dangerous fugitives accountable."
