LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A judge set a $1 million bond Tuesday for a man charged with murder in connection to a fatal crash in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.

Scott Drollinger, 38, was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections shortly after the crash happened. According to the arrest citation, the crash happened in the 3300 block of Northwestern Parkway just after 7:45 p.m. on Sunday.

LMPD Traffic Unit officers responded and found evidence showing that Drollinger was traveling west in a 2024 GMC Sierra Pickup Truck when he lost control and ran off the road. Officers said there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from Drollinger, when they first arrived.

When Drollinger ran off the roadway, he hit a utility pole, multiple concrete steps, and a metal fence before coming to a stop.

When the crash happened, a metal fence post went through the passenger side of the truck and fatally injured the passenger, who was pronounced dead at the scene just before 8 p.m.. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 38-year-old Anna Maria Gonzalez.

Drollinger was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A toxicology report showed he had a blood alcohol level of .156.

LMPD's Real Time Crime Center Cameras (RTCC) captured him driving at a high rate of speed prior to the crash happening, according to the citation.

Drollinger is being charged with murder, criminal mischief, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday.
