LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A juvenile has been arrested in connection to a non-fatal shooting in Fern Creek last month.

John Bradley, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said the juvenile was attempting to break into a vehicle on Aug. 4 just after 5:30 a.m. in the 8500 block of Carmil Drive.

Court documents state that the victim heard his car alarm go off and confronted the suspects.

According to police, the victim heard one of the suspects yell, "shoot him," and he retreated to his home, but was shot in the left side of his face.

Police were able to identify a blue Maserati sedan as being involved with the shooting. It was allegedly stolen from Lexington and linked to multiple car break-ins.

A separate investigation identified the juvenile as one of the occupants of the sedan and he was arrested in connection to the break-ins.

The juvenile was found in possession of three handguns when he was arrested, according to court documents.

One of those guns was linked to the Fern Creek shooting. Police also found a picture of the victim's VIN plate in the juvenile's phone.

The photo had location data with a date and time stamp indicating it was taken moments before the shooting.
