LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A male juvenile was arrested early Tuesday morning after Kentucky State Police said he led them on a chase in a stolen SUV through southern Jefferson County.

In a news release, KSP said the Hardin County Sheriff's Office notified troopers around 2:30 a.m. about a stolen white Mercedes that was taken from Elizabethtown and later abandoned in Radcliff.

While investigating, KSP learned a white Mazda SUV was stolen from the same neighborhood and believed the juvenile was traveling to Louisville.

The vehicle was then spotted near Greenwood Road and Terry Road in Pleasure Ridge Park. When they tried to stop the SUV, the driver sped off. After a short chase, troopers forced the vehicle to stop near Terry Road and Tearose Drive.

KSP said the teen ran from the SUV but was caught following a short foot pursuit. No one was injured.

The teen was taken to the Jefferson Regional Juvenile Detention Center. He faces several charges, including fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment of a police officer, receiving stolen property over $10,000, and criminal mischief.

Trooper Joseph Pineiroa handled the investigation, with assistance from other Post 4 troopers and Louisville Metro Police.
