LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Coroner's office has identified a woman who was killed in a crash near Shawnee Park Saturday night.
Lashonda Daugherty, 42, died at University of Louisville Hospital just after 9 p.m. Sept. 20.
The crash was reported around 8:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Broadway, Sgt. Matt Sanders, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said.
Sanders said the crash was reported as a single-vehicle crash with injuries. Due to the severity of those injuries, LMPD's Traffic Unit was called to investigate.
Investigators believe the driver, identified as Daugherty, was headed west on Broadway when they, "for unknown reason," left the roadway on the right-hand side of Broadway and hit a tree.
In the process, Sanders said the vehicle overturned onto the driver's side of the vehicle. First responders had to extract Daugherty from the vehicle. She was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where she died.
