LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A northern Kentucky doctor has been found guilty of illegally prescribing opioids.
According to court documents, Dr. Michael Fletcher, 61, was a physician at International Pain Specialists in Crestview Hills, Kentucky, about 8 miles south of Cincinnati. He was also a former member of the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure.
Fletcher was found guilty of illegally prescribing opioids to his patients including some who had tested positive for street drugs like cocaine and heroin. Seven of his patients died of drug-related complications shortly after getting the opioid prescriptions.
Fletcher will be sentenced in December.
