LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police are warning the public about recent scams involving missing pets.
The agency said it's gotten numerous reports of scammers targeting people with lost pets.
Pet owners who have posted about their pets on social media have been getting messages.
KSP said scammers will tell people they have information about where their pet is and they will give that information for money.
Police said you should never send money to anyone you don't know personally, and to never give personal information to people over the phone or online unless you know they are legitimate.
