LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — As the search continues for 8-month-old Miya Rudd in Ohio County, Kentucky State Police said they have arrested more of the baby's family members.
KSP served a search warrant Wednesday on Leitchfield Road in Owensboro at the home of Miya's maternal grandparents, Taletha and David Tucker, according to Trooper Corey King.
King said the baby was not at the home, but some baby items were found. Police also seized electronics and placed the couple under arrest.
Taletha Tucker, 50, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Indiana. David Tucker, 53, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Daviess County, Kentucky.
Both are being held at the Daviess County Detention Center.Â
Also during Wednesday's search, three older children of Tesla Tucker, Miya's mother, were removed. The children were taken away from Tucker before Miya was born.
KSP said Monday they were searching for Miya after troopers went to the parent's home on a welfare check and couldn't find her. Miya's parents, Tesla Tucker, 29, and Cage Rudd, 30, have already been arrested on charges including drug possession, child abuse and abandonment of a minor.
Police have also arrested Miya's paternal grandparents, Billie J. Smith and Ricky Smith. Billie Smith was arrested on a warrant related to domestic violence, and Ricky Smith is charged with abandonment of a minor and drug charges.Â
Tuesday, police brought in cadaver dogs to search about 10 areas of land near the home where Miya Rudd's family lived.Â
KSP continues to investigate the child's disappearance.
