LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Police are investigating after a man was found shot in the head in Louisville's Russell neighborhood Friday night.
According to LMPD spokesman Matthew Sanders, officers were called to the 2600 block of West Broadway Street at 11:20 p.m. Friday night.
They discovered a man, who was believed to be in his 40's, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
He was transported to University Hospital with what Sanders said was "life-threatening injuries."
The shooting was believed to happen in the parking lot of Dino's Food Mart.
LMPD's Homicide Unit is handling the investigation due to the extent of the man's injuries, according to Sanders.
