LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — It's hard to outrun a helicopter, and that's how Louisville Metro Police said officers nabbed six suspects behind a string of car thefts in the city's east end.
The department released a video Wednesday on Facebook of how it all went down.
Around 3 a.m. on June 12, LMPD's chopper zeroed in on a stolen Toyota Highlander in the Locust Creek neighborhood off Shelbyville Road with the suspected thieves inside.
The Highlander is clocked going 110 miles per hour down Shelbyville Road at one point.
The video shows groups of the suspects bailing out of the SUV and making a run for it on foot in different locations, but they didn't get very far. Officers on the ground arrested them.
LMPD said it is continuing nightly air patrols.
