LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Kentucky man is accused of posing as a police officer to steal some donuts and coffee.
According to court documents, 54-year-old James Sullivan walked into the Thornton's gas station on Cane Run Road on Dec. 1, 2025, picked some donuts and got a cup of coffee. He then flashed a silver badge on his hip resembling a police badge and walked out of the store without paying.
Sullivan's citation said he is also accused of doing this same thing numerous times before.
Sullivan is charged with impersonating a peace officer and shoplifting. He pleaded not guilty in court on Wednesday and posted a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to be in court again on Jan. 22.
