LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 27-year-old man accused of inappropriately touching a young girl waiting to be picked up from school in Crescent Hill earlier this month is in custody.

Louisville Metro Police announced the arrest of Jacob Burnett in a Facebook post on Sept. 29. Police thanked "a vigilant and anonymous tipster" who helped investigators find the suspect. 

Burnett was arrested Burnett in the early morning hours of Sept. 29. He's charged with first degree sexual abuse, according to a news release from LMPD. 

The arrest came almost two weeks after the alleged incident — near McCready and Richard avenues, between Lexington Road and Frankfort Avenue — around 3 p.m. Sept. 18.

According to police, the victim was able to protect herself and capture video of the suspect as he ran through a yard, around a corner and down the street. The video, posted by LMPD on social media, shows the man wearing a dark gray shirt, khaki shorts, gray shoes and black socks.

"The young lady was standing here in this area and she was approached and inappropriately touched by the man in this video," said John Bradley, a spokesperson for LMPD. "She screamed, drew attention to herself, and scared him away."

LMPD released the video to help the public get a better look at the suspect. Officials praised the girl's bravery, and thanked the tipster for the information. 

"We want to thank the individual who came forward with the tip that led to this arrest," LMPD spokesman Sgt.

Matt Sanders said in the release. "Your courage and commitment to protecting our community made a difference."
