LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say an undercover investigation into prostitution and human trafficking led to three arrests Wednesday afternoon.
According to arrest reports, it happened at the Red Roof Inn near the corner of Newburg Road and the Watterson Expressway at 3 p.m.
Police say an undercover detective contacted two women -- 38-year-old Cathy Bracero and 19-year-old Erica Jerry -- via an online ad on a classifieds website. According to the arrest reports, that detective arranged to meet the two women in a hotel room at the Red Roof Inn.
During the meeting, police say the women agreed to engage in sexual activity with the undercover detective for $300.
Both Bracero and Jerry were arrested by police and charged with prostitution, a misdemeanor. Bracero was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, after police say they found digital scales in her possession.Â
Both women are homeless, according to police.
Police say they also arrested 35-year-old Dujuan Walker, a resident of Marietta, Georgia, who was allegedly seen leaving the hotel room just before the undercover detective went inside. According to the arrest report, he was found in the parking lot, sitting inside a green 2014 Chevy. Police say he had a key to the hotel room where the women were, and his clothing was also inside the room.
According to the arrest report, Walker claimed that Jerry was his girlfriend.
Police say they found $1,700 inside Walker's vehicle, and he had $300 in his pocket.
He was arrested and charged with promoting prostitution, a felony.
All three suspects are currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
