LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is now dead after being shot in the Algonquin neighborhood early Friday morning.

According to Louisville Metro Police spokesperson John Bradley, officers responded to the 1600 block of Moore Court on a ShotSpotter call just before 4 a.m.

When they arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to UofL Hospital where he was said to be in critical condition at that time, according to Bradley.

The man died from his injuries after arriving to the hospital, Bradley said in an update Friday morning.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 54-year-old Carl Jackson.

LMPD said Friday evening 45-year-old Antonio Whaley, of Louisville, has been arrested in the shooting, charged with murder, wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
