LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is facing several charges after a traffic stop on Bardstown Road last Friday.Ā
According to court documents, 55-year-old Christopher David was stoppedĀ about 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 11 after an officer noticed he didn't have a valid plate on the 1999 Chevrolet Camaro he was driving on Bardstown Road near Lakeside Drive.Ā
David said "multiple times" that he is a CIA agent, and said he doesn't have a valid driver's license because it was "illegally revoked." Police found several items in the car including hats, money clips, and a wallet with "CIA" on them. David also displayed a card that read: "Association of Former Intelligence Officers" on it.Ā
Investigators learned that David's license had been revoked, and that he has a history of impersonating peace officers, and is on federal probation for impersonating a CIA officer in the past.Ā
As David was being taken to Louisville Metro Corrections, he continued to say he was a CIA agent, and tried to get officers to call a phone number that he claimed would verify that he is "authorized" to wear CIA emblems and identify himself as a CIA officer.Ā
David is charged with impersonating a peace officer, operating on a suspended or revoked license, and failure to maintain insurance.
He was arraigned on Sept. 12, and his bond was set at $25,000 cash. He is due in court again on the above charges on Sept. 22.Ā
David also has another court date on Nov. 7 for criminal trespassing and obstructing governmental operations.Ā
