LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was shot outside a business near the University of Louisville on Christmas Eve. 

In a release, Louisville Metro Police said Fourth Division officers were called to a parking lot on South 2nd Street near Central Avenue about 2 p.m. Sunday. 

Police couldn't find a victim, but a short time later a private vehicle brought a man with a gunshot wound to UofL Health - Jewish Hospital in downtown Louisville. 

Medical professionals helped the man until EMS arrived to take him to UofL Health Hospital nearby. The man was alert and conscious according to police. He has injuries police do not believe to be life-threatening. 

The LMPD Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling the investigation.
