LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was shot on Bardstown Road near the Highlands early Sunday morning, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said officers were on a regular patrol in the 1000 block of Bardstown Road, near Highland Avenue, when they heard shots fired in the area. Police went to the scene, but didn't find a victim.
An EMS unit was flagged down a short time later at Baxter Avenue and Broadway, according to Ellis. A man with a gunshot wound was provided medical care and then taken to the hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are working to find out what led up to the shooting and possible motives.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit will be handling the investigation. Police don't have any suspects.
