LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville drivers should prepare for another overnight shutdown of Interstate 65 South on the Kennedy Bridge.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said overnight closures of I-65 South on the Kennedy Bridge will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, April 3, and end at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4. I-65 South will be closed just past Exit 1 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Drivers should use Interstate 265 West to Interstate 64 East to reconnect to I-65 South.

The closure is necessary to prevent any bridge movement so crews can continue the final phase of the expansion joint replacement project.

KYTC said up to three more overnight closures of the bridge are expected as work progresses.
