LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man was arrested in connection with a Memorial Day weekend shooting in Louisville's Jacobs neighborhood that left four women with gunshot wounds and two other women injured.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, detectives with the Non-Fatal Shooting Unit arrested 36-year-old Bryson O'Neal on Friday.
The arrest stems from a shooting that happened around 6 a.m. May 24 in the 1700 block of Berry Boulevard, where officers responded to a motorcycle club after reports of gunshots. Two women with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds were found at the scene, while four additional women later went to UofL Hospital for treatment.
Later in O'Neil's arrest citation, police said four women had been shot and otherwise injured in the incident.
According to his arrest citation, O'Neal fled the scene after the shooting. He later told police in an interview he was one of the shooters involved in the shooting.
At the time, people at the motorcycle club said the shooting happened in a parking lot next to the club after people who couldn't get inside because of age restrictions gathered outside and held their own party. Club employees said they had asked Louisville Metro Police for increased patrols ahead of the busy Memorial Day weekend.
Police said O'Neal is charged with assault, wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
