LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Oldham County High School student is facing charges after allegedly putting a staple in a teacher's drink.
Oldham County Police Maj. Scott Wolf confirmed to WDRB News that the student allegedly put a single staple into the drink at the high school Feb. 6.
In a news release Tuesday, police said the teacher drank from the bottle but didn't ingest the staple.
"Follow up investigations revealed knowledge that the incident could have caused physical harm," police said.
Wolf said the student faces charges of assault and wanton endangerment. The investigation is ongoing.
No additional information was released about the incident, including the grade level of the student, though police said he or she is a juvenile.
