LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A $15,000 reward is being offered for information after a husky was found badly injured and abandoned near a Louisville park.
The dog, named Sammie, was discovered April 28 near Iroquois Park after a groundskeeper at the golf course heard what sounded like an animal in distress.
Investigators said the groundskeeper found the husky inside a garbage bag with twine wrapped around her snout. The dog had a broken neck and was later euthanized due to the severity of her injuries.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for abandoning the dog. The total reward in the case has reached $15,000.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to call 574-LMPD or submit an anonymous tip online.
