LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A teenager is now in jail facing a slew of drug charges after being with the wanted teen who police shot on Tuesday afternoon.
Police arrested 19-year-old Julian Oyaro on Tuesday. Oyaro was in the same location as the 17-year-old wanted teenager on West Kenton Street in Louisville's Wilder Park neighborhood.
Police were conducting surveillance the 17-year-old, a person of interest in one of the several homicides that happened over the weekend, when the shooting occurred.
According to Oyaro's arrest report, police attempted to stop him and the 17-year-old wanted teen, but both of them ran off in different directions. When police approached the 17-year-old wanted teen, he brandished a gun, and while police tried to take the gun from him, it went off. One police officer returned fire, hitting the 17-year-old one time. He remains in the hospital in critical condition.
Oyaro is charged with trafficking fentanyl and heroin, tampering with evidence, fleeing from police, and possession of marijuana.
He's expected in court on Thursday.
