Shively double shooting

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Shively Police officers arrested five people and charged them with the murder of a 26-year-old man outside a club on 7th Street Road in what investigators called a "coordinated attack."

Sgt. Jordan Brown with the Shively Police Department said officers responded to the shooting outside Club 7 in the 2800 block of 7th Street Road around 3:20 a.m. When they arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. A man, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the victim as 26-year-old Rodney Parker.

On Wednesday, Brown said Shively and Louisville Metro Police officers conducted search warrants on several locations. Five people were arrested and charged in connection to Parker's death:

  • Chance Guthrie, 18
    • Murder (complicity)
    • Assault 2nd (complicity)
    • Wanton Endangerment 1st (complicity) – 2 counts
    • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • D’Montray Rox, 20
    • Murder (complicity)
    • Assault 2nd (complicity)
    • Wanton Endangerment 1st (complicity) – 2 counts
  • Juvenile
    • Murder (complicity)
    • Assault 2nd (complicity)
    • Wanton Endangerment 1st (complicity) – 2 counts
    • Minor in Possession of a Handgun

Brown said three others were charged during the operation on charges unrelated to Parker's murder:

  • Malik Birdsong, 22
    • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • De’marion Coleman, 21
    • Trafficking in Marijuana (8 oz to 5 lbs) – Enhanced
  • Larica Turner, 43
    • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance – Enhanced
    • Possession of a Controlled Substance
