LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shively police are calling a double shooting that killed one man and injured another a "targeted shooting" outside an adult entertainment club.

The shooting happened in the parking lot at Club 7 on 7th Street Road near Arcade Avenue.

Shively police responded to the scene Monday morning around 3:20 a.m. They found 26-year-old Rodney Parker and another man who had been shot.

Parker died at the scene and the other person was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

"We have been able to determine that this was a very targeted event, and it was not just a random act of violence," said Sgt. Jordan Brown.

Brown said police haven't had past issues with the club, and he doesn't think there's a threat to the public. Police do believe there is more than one suspect.

"Obviously, this is always something that's very concerning to us, especially when it's in a crowded area like that, it's just a total disregard for human life. It's something we put all of our effort into solving and also preventing in the future," said Brown.

Anna lives near Club 7. She has lived in Shively her entire life and was asleep when the shooting happened.

"I didn't hear a thing, but I'm not really surprised because it happens every once in a blue moon," said Anna, "I do worry about the other people in the community, and I just want people to be safe, that's all."

The club posted on social media saying three patrons were confronted in the parking lot by unknown suspects who were not inside Club 7 at any time. The suspects fired multiple rounds from outside the building.

Brown said police are still looking for the suspects in the shooting.
