LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 33-year-old man was arrested early Monday morning in southern Indiana after allegedly beating a woman, shooting at another and then leading police on a chase.
According to Indiana State Police, the Washington County Sheriff's Department and troopers responded to a home on East Blankenbaker Road near Pekin around 10:46 p.m. on a reported domestic battery and shooting.
Police said Aaron Thornberry allegedly got into an altercation with a woman at the home and she had "visible injuries."
Thornberry then allegedly shot at a woman who pulled into the driveway shortly after the altercation.
Police said Thornberry fled the scene before officers arrived. The shooting victim was taken to UofL Hospital where her condition is unknown at this time.
The assault victim was taken to Ascension St. Vincent Salem. Police said Thornberry's vehicle was seen by a Scott County officer on State Road 56 and officers attempted a traffic stop but a pursuit began through Scott, Jefferson and Clark counties.
Troopers deployed stop sticks but the pursuit continued. The pursuit finally ended early Monday morning once a trooper performed a PIT maneuver on State Road 63 near Marble Hill Road and Clark County.
Police said Thornberry was taken into custody without incident.
Thornberry faces preliminary charges including two counts of attempted murder, burglary, criminal confinement, possession of a machine gun, operation of a machine gun, two counts of intimidation, domestic battery by means of a deadly weapon, domestic battery resulting in bodily injury to a person less than 14 years of age, domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, criminal recklessness, pointing a firearm and residential entry.
He was taken to the Washington County Jail where he's being held on a $1 million bond.
