LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have found a 19-year-old Jeffersonville, Indiana, homicide suspect and his missing girlfriend.

Anthony White, of Jeffersonville, was arrested Tuesday at 8 p.m. on a warrant for murder.

Jeffersonville police identified White as the suspect in a fatal shooting that happened Nov. 21. At the time, police said they responded to the shooting at 10:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Kopp Avenue, where a 33-year-old man had been shot.

The victim, LaWayne Brownlee, died at the hospital the next day.

After identifying White as the shooter, police conducted a search warrant at his home at the Greenwood Apartment complex, but he wasn't there.

Police identified the shooter as Anthony White, a Jeffersonville teen. Police conducted a search warrant at White's home at Greenwood Apartment complex.

At the time, police said they made direct contact with him through his family and arranged to meet with him. But White didn't appear at the scheduled appointment, so an arrest warrant was issued for the offense of murder.

His girlfriend, 19-year-old Andre'a Peoples, was reported missing by her mother. She was last seen on Nov. 22 near 6th and Broadway in Louisville. She was also last seen in the company of White. Police believed White traveled outside the city and enlisted multiple agencies in their search for him.

Jeffersonville police asked the public to be on the lookout for the pair, and believed White was armed and dangerous.

In a news release Tuesday night, Jeffersonville Police Det. Lt. Samuel Moss said White had been taken into custody at the Greenwood Apartments where his mother resides, and where police had initially looked for White after the shooting.

Peoples was also located safe and unharmed. Moss said the case remains open and the investigation remains ongoing.
