LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a woman was hit by "random, untargeted gunfire" Tuesday night.
Officers were called to the Dosker Manor Housing complex, building C, on East Muhammad Ali Boulevard just before 9:30 p.m. on a reported shooting, Sgt. Matt Sanders, a spokesperson for LMPD, said in a statement. That's near East Liberty and South Preston Streets, just outside downtown Louisville in the Phoenix Hill neighborhood.
Once on scene, police found a woman believed to be in her late 60s with a gunshot wound to the hand. She was stable when being transported to University Hospital, Sanders said.
Police believe the woman was hit by "random, untargeted gunfire" that went through her front door, hitting her.
Sanders said LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating, and is reviewing surveillance footage as they look for possible witnesses. There are currently no suspects and have been no arrests.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling the investigation, but has no suspects and has made no arrests.
