LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Eight new homes were shipped, delivered, and will be move-in ready in Kentucky before Christmas.
Louisville housing manufacturer MMY US shipped the homes to the new Skyview high-ground community, just outside of Hazard.
Team Kentucky provided $1.6 million to help build the homes through a partnership with Family Scholar House.
"The Skyview neighborhood will eventually have around 100 homes on donated land to help get folks out of the floodplain with room for more development on the property right next door," Gov. Andy Beshear said.
The homes are expected to be move-in ready by Christmas and bring the total number of completed homes in the community to 20.
In total, Team Kentucky is working on eight high-ground communities. Road work is now complete at the Skyview community in Perry County and the Chestnut Ridge community in Knott County.
