LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A crash Friday on Interstate 64 in Louisville closed the eastbound lanes of the Sherman Minton Bridge for about six hours.
On Monday, the I-64 westbound lanes on the top deck of the bridge closed for nine days as part of a years-long construction project. And then with Friday's crash closing the eastbound lanes, both sides of the bridge were closed.
A spokesperson for the Sherman Minton Renewal Project said a truck damaged a painter's platform on the bridge and the eastbound lanes would remain closed so repairs could be made.
According to TRIMARC, the eastbound lanes reopened around 7:50 p.m. Friday.
Louisville Metro Police said there were no reported injuries and the driver of the truck "may not have realized the damage it caused as it was crossing in the construction zone."
