LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — New Albany-Floyd County Schools' teachers and bus drivers are getting raises next school year.

During a special meeting Monday evening, the New Albany-Floyd County Board of School Trustees passed memorandums for teachers and bus drivers.

The starting salary for teachers is now $50,200 and will top out at $85,300.

“We are very pleased with being able to make these significant changes in teacher compensation and have the ability to take care of our great teachers who do so much for our kids each and every day," NAFCS Superintendent Dr. Travis Madison said in a news release.

The district said most teachers will see between an $8,000-$10,000 increase in their base salary depending on their experience level.

As for bus drivers in their 2-year agreement, the starting pay will increase to $27.67 an hour for the 2024-25 school year. For the 2025-26 school year, the starting pay will be $28.82 an hour.
