LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Full-time teachers in Oldham County Public Schools will receive a $2,000 one-time payment later this year.
The Oldham County Board of Education approved the payments at its Wednesday night meeting.
Part-time employees were also included in the benefit, though their payment will be $1,000.
The payments are in addition to the 7% pay raise for salaried employees and a $2 raise for hourly workers the school board approved back in April. The raise went into effect in July.
"Along with the record 7% raises approved in the spring, the Board is thrilled to be able to offer these stipends to our hardworking teachers and staff," board chair Suzanne Hundley said in a news release Thursday. "We will continue to look for ways to increase pay and elevate the experience for the employees of Oldham County Schools."
Student head back to school in Oldham County on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
