LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Students from Jefferson County Public Schools planted dozens of trees on Tuesday.
Southern High School students planted 30 trees in partnership with Trees Louisville. Students dug, planted, mulched and watered the grounds.
Makayla Green, a freshman, learned how to plant trees on Tuesday.
"It's really nice, you get to learn about the environment and different things about that," Green said. "You can help the environment."
The trees were provided by Trees Louisville and staff to help teach students about planting and how to care for trees.
