LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some Jefferson County Public Schools students learned how to save lives in an emergency.
Eighth grade health science students at Farnsley Middle School learned how to "Stop the Bleed" on Friday morning.
UofL Health visited the school to teach the kids how to help a severely injured person and increase the chances of their survival.
It's all part of an effort to give the students a real-world health care experience.
"I've always wanted to do something in the medical field, so learning stuff this early on is kind of fun knowing that I will be able to do this someday in the future like I've always wanted to do," Isabelle Batista said.
Several other JCPS schools have also held the training, and some students have already used their skills to help people in emergencies inside and outside of school.
