LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Students from across the state training for a career in the auto industry put their skills to the test Friday.
They competed in the Toyota Express Maintenance Competition at Southern High School.
All students are in auto tech programs at schools across Kentucky. They completed tasks like oil and tire changing, inspecting vehicles and diagnosing mechanical issues.
"It was pretty challenging because we see that people around us are also basically in the competition trying to go fast but the problem with that is going fast you might mess up," Sedeeq Nasruldeem, a student at Southern, said.
This is the first time the competition has been hosted in the state of Kentucky.
