LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thousands of students moved into their dorms at the University of Louisville Thursday morning.

Over 2,000 students unloaded their belongings to set up their new dorms.

Thursday was freshman move-in day and over 400 volunteers helped move the students in.

Upper classmen will begin moving back on campus over the next few days.

"I am really excited, like seriously, this is new to me, so I'm nervous but I am excited," UofL freshman Coby Barnett said.

"It's just a pleasure to be able to welcome these students and their families to campus," UofL President Kim Schatzel said. "The energy is contagious to be able to feel it."

The university's fall semester begins Monday.
