LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Yearlings Club hosted a conversation Thursday evening about equity in Jefferson County Public Schools' transportation.

School board members, lawmakers and other stakeholders attended.

The focus was on the impact of transportation cuts on JCPS families, especially those who live in west Louisville.

Board member Gail Logan Strange said one of the biggest challenges for the district is making sure resources are allocated fairly, across schools.

"We have to make sure no matter what zip code they live in, or what zip code the schools are located in, they have all the same financial, physical, and human resources that are needed, and so those are the obstacles that I see and challenges I see currently," Logan Strange said.

JCPS said it hopes to restore some routes that were cut, with the addition of TARC drivers.
