Fire in 1600 blk of Spring Street - 2.21.26

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — No injuries were reported after a building fire in southern Indiana Friday evening.

Firefighters with the Jeffersonville Fire Department were called to the 1600 block of Spring Street about 7:44 p.m. on a reported fire, according to a department post on Facebook.

Crews arrived within three minutes of the call, finding heavy fire and smoke coming from the one-story vacant building. Firefighters attacked the interior of the building while other firefighters searched for any victims. No one was inside, and there were no injuries reported.

However, an adjacent building suffered exposure, and crews had to get both fires under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
