LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Floyds Knobs parents have been arrested for child neglect, after police say they found a 4-year-old child in a home with methamphetamine.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Indiana State Police were called to the home on Scottsville Road, near Brush College Road, on Dec. 19, to assist Floyd County Child Protective Services with a welfare check on the child.
The homeowner allowed the investigators to enter the home, and the parents -- 28-year-old Crystal N. Bowman and 40-year-old Eric L. Bowman -- let investigators search the home to see if there was anything there that might endanger the child.
Police say they entered the master bedroom and found a laptop computer and two plastic bags containing a "white, powder-like substance" in them. The bags were on top of the bed.
Officers suspect that the substance was methamphetamine, according to the probable cause affidavit.
When police asked Eric Bowman about the bags, he allegedly "look[ed] down towards the floor and stated in a solemn manner that it was drugs."
Both Crystal and Eric Bowman were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamines, possession of paraphernalia and neglect of a dependent.
