LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — While winter weather moved through the area Saturday, LG&E says the storm was not to blame for a power outage in Louisville.

In a Facebook post Sunday, LG&E said foil balloons released in a Louisville neighborhood Saturday evening caused nearly 5,000 customers to lose power. Power was off almost an hour and a half.

LG&E said in the post foil balloons conduct electricity, potentially causing power outages, fires and injuries if you come in contact with power lines.
