LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Community members came out Saturday to support a fellow officer who was shot while trying to serve a warrant.

Shively Police Officer Wes Singleton was shot earlier this month and is now going through rehabilitation for his injuries.

Organizers say Saturday's benefit was to raise money for the officer and his family as he recovers.

"It's one of those things that you hear across the country ... by everybody coming together, I think it's helping," said Preston Eisenback, President of the Shively FOP Lodge 17.

The event included a silent auction, raffles, and a concert.
