LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Goss Avenue in Louisville's Germantown neighborhood is temporarily closed for the next two weeks.

According to a release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the stretch of Goss Avenue between Logan Street and Shelby Street closed down Monday, April 13 as work continues on the KY 864 one-way to two-way street conversion project.

The KYTC expects the road to reopen Monday, April 27.

The nearly $3 million project plans to convert Logan and Shelby streets into two-way streets between Goss Avenue and East Gray Street to improve traffic and pedestrian safety. This particular closure is to work on a concrete median in the the area.

Drivers should plan to follow the signed detour route, which includes:

  • Southbound Shelby Street detour, and to and from Goss Avenue, via Mulberry St. and McHenry Street.
  • Northbound Shelby Street detour via Ormsby Avenue, S. Clay Street, and Camp Street.
