LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A video uploaded to YouTube last week shows a large fight on Bardstown road and as disturbing as the video may be, Osama Alkhateeb said he's seen worse.

"Every weekend, a new story. Every weekend something happened. Every weekend. I'm tired of that!" said Alkhateeb.

He came to the U.S. from Jordan to experience the American dream. Almost three years ago, he opened Global Tech on Bardstown Road, which is next door to Cahoots.

"I think this is the worst thing I’ve done in my life, opening business on this street," Alkhateeb said.

Fights, drug activity and vandalism are things he said happen almost every weekend and eventually end up right in front of his business. As if the weekends weren't bad enough, Alkhateeb said he has to relive it all on Monday mornings.

"I'm collecting all these videos to protect my business, but every morning I have detectives walking in. They want to look at the cameras," Alkhateeb explained.

Other business owners are working together with LMPD. The department said it’s added about 16 officers to patrol Bardstown Road, including Cahoots. A few businesses are even hiring additional off-duty officers for security.

While some are calling the bar a nuisance, Chuck Rubin of Chuck Rubin Photography said the commotion isn't affecting his business.

"Stuff happens. Somebody got killed on the next block and I don't stay away from there. I don't know if it had anything to do with Cahoots, the violence. But it's a bar, stuff is going to happen," said Rubin.

Osama Alkhateeb disagrees and said he’s reached his breaking point.

"This is the type of thing that makes me want to move out the country, I swear," Alkhateeb said.

There was an Alcoholic Beverage Control hearing scheduled Tuesday to determine if Cahoots will lose its liquor license based on two recent, unrelated violations. That hearing has been postponed until Sept. 15.
